This photographic, ongoing project, called Suburban Highway is about a hypothetical route stretching across Greece. This route always begins in Athens the capital. It either stretches north towards Thessaloniki and from there to many more cities on the opposite direction it reaches all through the Peloponnese peninsula.
Driving this route you can travel all through Greece . The islands are a different story... Hundreds of boats of various shapes sizes and colors depart from Piraeus Port. Mainly in the summer. Mainly early in the morning.
Every single time you follow this imaginary route, either all the way up or all the way down the scenery is exactly the same. Nothing changes. No surprises. It seems like you come across the same mountains, the same villages, the same structures factories, people and landscapes. Road signs help you to keep track of your the orientation and guide you through your journey. Only the light varies depending on where you go.»
